New recruit Ben Brereton couldn't hide his delight after penning an initial loan deal, with an option of this becoming a permanent move when the transfer window opens on January 1st 2019.

Capable of playing in any of the attacking positions, Brereton began his career in the youth ranks at Manchester United before taking in a short stint at the Stoke City academy prior linking up with Nottingham Forest.
He broke into the first team and made his debut in January 2017 against Leeds United before becoming a regular feature for the Reds ever since.
But Rovers worked long and hard to conclude the deal and the young England youth international is now looking forward to an even brighter future in East Lancashire.
“It’s a very proud moment and I’m very excited to get going. To contribute to the team is going to be brilliant and I’m hoping it’s going to be a great season for the team and a great future," the 19-year-old told iFollow Rovers.
“It’s been ongoing for the last couple of weeks, it’s been on, it’s been off, but it’s done now and it was a no brainer. It’s a great opportunity for me and I can’t wait to see how things work out.
“I’m over the moon to be here. I can focus on my football now and back playing again.
“I was really excited when I first heard about this opportunity and now I’ve grabbed it. I really can’t wait to start playing games for this team."
Brereton brings both youth and some Championship experience to the Rovers ranks, with the teenager appearing more than 50 times in his young career.
And now joining a team which is unbeaten in the league, and in round three of the Carabao Cup, the Stoke-born star believes good times are back again at Ewood Park.
“The club has a great history. I’ve seen a lot of strikers come here and do well. The start to the season has been great for us and the lads have been great. I can’t wait to get the boots on again and pull on the shirt," he added.
“The gaffer will pick who he thinks should play but to play games and contribute to the team is vital for me. I played quite a few games last season and I can’t wait for more of that and to progress my career here at Rovers."
