Blackburn Rovers stars Amari’i Bell and Joe Nuttall were the latest first team players to show their support towards the Trust’s popular Football Camps at the Indoor Centre.
Defender Bell and striker Nuttall paid a visit to the indoor facility, located next to Ewood Park as they prepared for Rovers’ first home Championship match of the 2018/19 campaign against London side Millwall.
The pair answered questions put to them by the children and Amari’i offered some sound advice to the youngsters.
“I really enjoyed visiting the Football Camp,” admitted the former Birmingham City and Fleetwood Town full back.
“The minute I walked in, the children started chanting my name and it was a lovely feeling. They all had smiles on their faces and I could tell they were really enjoying the camp.
“We answered a few different questions and I was asked how old I was when I started playing football. I was ten years-old, so I told them it is never to late to start playing for a team. If they work hard and keep on trying, there is no reason why they can’t keep on progressing.
After the Q&A session, Bell and Nuttall concluded their visit with a crossbar challenge against one another, with neither able to hit the bar despite a couple of close calls.
“The crossbar challenge was fun,” said Amari’i. “Unfortunately, neither of us hit the target but it was a great visit and I am looking forward to seeing them all next time.”
