Development Squad supremo Damien Johnson says opponents Aston Villa won't simply roll over when they visit Ewood Park tonight.

A top-of-the-table clash in Premier League 2 takes place on Monday evening, with Rovers needing only a point to confirm the title.

And whilst it's an exciting time, Johnson wants his side to not get ahead of themselves against a Villa side who come into the game in fine form.

“We’re looking forward to it but in terms of the game, Villa have won seven in a row, playing really well," Damien told iFollow Rovers.

"It’s important that we’re focussed and concentrated. We won’t get ahead of ourselves. If we do take our eye off the ball then we could come unstuck.

“The lads want to see it through but we saw how good Villa are from the Premier League Cup a few weeks ago. It’s a tough game but it’s important that our players block out the hype and just focus on ourselves as we haven’t done anything yet.

“It’s been a good learning curve for us. Ultimately winning the league is our goal but when you have a chance of doing it then you want to see it through. Its a big part of their development.

"Against Newcastle last time out, our performance levels weren’t the best but they showed they can get the job done."

Kick-off at Ewood Park is 7pm this evening and with admission FREE of charge, it would be great to see as many fans as possible in attendance to get behind the lads!
