Speaking during his pre-match press conference, Tony Mowbray has provided an update on three members of the Rovers first-team squad.
Darragh Lenihan was a notable absentee from Monday's 2-1 win at MK Dons after being forced off against Bradford, while Ryan Nyambe has been out of action since last month's victory over Blackpool.
Meanwhile, Ben Gladwin has been continuing his recovery from a lengthy spell on the sidelines and, asked about the trio, Mowbray had positive news.
"Darragh has had a scan; it's just a bit of bruising on his lower back, so he shouldn't be too much longer," he said.
"It's nothing serious so let's wait and see. Whether or not he'll be involved against Southend this weekend, I'm not sure.
"Ryan's been out for a few weeks now, it's a grade two [hamstring strain], so he's had to work his way back towards fitness.
"He'll definitely be ready for the end of the season but will have to make sure he's okay when he's back on the grass.
"Ben Gladwin has played a practice match behind closed doors and came through it fine. Fitness-wise, he's very close to coming back. We'll wait to see if he can force his way back into the squads.
"At this stage, there's a real hunger and intensity among the players in the gym and in training. They're all trying to get in contention."
