Following on from our League One Family Club of the Year and AmazeRealise Family Club of the Year awards earlier this month, Rovers have been rewarded further for their fine efforts.
We are thrilled to announce that the club are one of just 10 EFL sides to pick up the Family Excellence Gold Award.
Rovers offer a wide-range of family-themed activities on matchdays, with the aim of providing the very best experience for our supporters and the wider community at every home fixture.
Over the past 12 months, the club has invested in and improved upon the existing offering in facilities such as the GAME Room, Strikers' Lounge and Foster's FanZone.
There has been increased player interaction with young supporters in these areas, as well as the dedicated Blackburn Rovers Community Trust Family Stand, whilst the addition of Rover's Kennel has also proved particularly popular.
An improved Halal food offering for the club’s growing BAME support base, the launch of the new 1875 Club and Junior Rovers membership scheme, and the introduction of commentary headsets for visually impaired supporters, were also key reasons behind Rovers' success.
Rovers joined Aston Villa, Cardiff, Derby, Fulham, Middlesbrough, Queens Park Rangers, Reading, Doncaster Rovers and Luton Town in achieving the prestigious Gold Award.
EFL Chief Executive, Shaun Harvey, said: “It is hugely encouraging to see the continuous development and improvement made by EFL Clubs in offering engaging match day experiences for families.
“Its impact continues to be notable with several Clubs gaining strong industry-wide reputations for offering true family value and a consistently high level of service and innovation.
“The EFL will continue to work with Clubs to help drive change and support the continued effort to attract and retain future generations of supporters. Congratulations to those that have been awarded Gold status in its inaugural year.”
