Rovers utility star Elliott Bennett says if the club are to achieve promotion at Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday night then it will have been done together.

Weekend results mean Rovers could clinch an instant return to the second tier with another three-point haul against Doncaster in midweek.

And ahead of the game, Benno's quick to praise the character of the team and hail key duo Bradley Dack and Danny Graham, who won the game with their goals on Thursday against Peterborough.

“We lost the first two games of the season but have kicked on since and Thursday night was a fantastic second half performance," said a beaming Bennett to iFollow Rovers.

“When Dacky’s on song he does what he does, whilst Danny’s a poacher, who was a bit like a spring chicken running around in the 90th minute and nicking the ball off their defender’s toe.

“They are two massive players for us and we’re happy we’ve got them in the team. Danny’s worked his socks off,  for the team this season and has got his reward with the goals and assists he's got this season."

And reflecting on the most recent win, Benno complimented their supporters for their backing and helping their team get over the line.

“It was an edgy first half but in the second half we were brilliant and really pushed Peterborough back," he added. "We started the second half really well and the fans played a massive part in that."
