Budding photographer Kirk Lowe is hoping to document the thrills and spills of being a Rovers supporter – would you or your family and friends like to feature in his special ‘fan action’ gallery?
The University Centre student from Blackburn College has been supporting the work of Blackburn Rovers Community Trust throughout the season, with many fans having already posed for happy photos at home games as he captures all the off-field emotion for photo galleries on the Facebook and Twitter pages of the club’s official charity.
He now hopes to take that photo journalism a step further by creating a widespread portrait gallery of Blackburn Rovers fans enjoying their matchday experience, charting their journey from leaving home to arriving at Ewood Park – and hopefully heading home again celebrating three points afterwards!
His plan is to try and work with a selection of willing fans to showcase the range of expressions, emotions and excitement that they demonstrate across the course of the remaining matches this season, catching candid shots that demonstrate what it means to follow your favourite club.
If you would like to be part of the project, please forward your name, contact number and your home town to Blackburn Rovers Community Trust’s head of marketing and communications, Adrian Ward, via firstname.lastname@example.org and he will pass all the details of potential participants to Kirk for him to select his ‘team’ of supporters to follow during the remainder of the season.
The ongoing capturing of images in this theme forms part of his final year assessments and is hoped to be turned into a showcase of supporters’ shots, either in an exhibition or for online publication so that everyone can enjoy the finished work.
