Darragh Lenihan says the Rovers supporters have been "outstanding" this season, after promotion was secured at Doncaster on Tuesday night.
It was defensive partner Charlie Mulgrew who scored the winning goal at the Keepmoat Stadium as the three points meant a return to the Championship was secured.
And speaking afterwards, 24-year-old Lenihan added that he was delighted to give back to the supporters with the achievement.
“It was brilliant to celebrate with the supporters. We took almost 4,000 to Doncaster and the support, both home and away, has been simply outstanding.
“It’s always good to give something back and hopefully we can all celebrate some more at the end of the season."
So, promotion, what does it feel like then? Over to Darragh!
“It’s a brilliant feeling because all the boys put in such an amount of work this season, as has the manager and the staff," the Irishman confessed.
“We’re thankful that we’ve got promoted but there is still two games to play and hopefully we can finish the season as champions, but the main goal was always to get promoted.
“It’s huge to be back in the Championship. If you go around the club and meet the people, no disrespect to the division but we’re not a League One club."
