A few weeks ago Tony Mowbray laid down a challenge to Craig Conway to score more goals and to grab more assists - and the winger's certainly accepted that test.
Conway scored in the recent win against Bradford at Ewood Park and was involved again at Rovers' home clash against Southend United on Saturday as he laid on the perfect cross for Danny Graham's winner.
And his boss has been impressed by what he's seen from the Scot, who certainly put in a shift against the Shrimpers at the weekend and produced that moment of quality with the chance he created.
“Craig has been kicking his heels in recent weeks and we’ve had a few conversations," Mowbray revealed to iFollow Rovers after Saturday's game.
"There have been times I’ve played four strikers and attempted to blow teams away but today I looked at it and [Ben] Coker’s a good left back so I wanted to put a hardworking, knowledgeable winger on him, which Craig is.
“I’ve told Craig that if he wants to start games regularly then he needs to get goals and assists and he did that today.
“Great credit to Craig for being so professional. He’s very important to this football club and is an honest pro, which every squad needs."
And on the match-winning moment, Tony added that he was pleased to see his two experienced heads combine to earn the points for Rovers.
“It seems a long time ago that Danny was sitting on the bench as well. The goal today was classic Danny. Craig put a perfect ball in and Danny finished it off."
