Bradley Dack says he'll be delighted to not reach 20 goals this season - but only if Rovers are promoted to the Championship.
He made it to 18 goals for the season with a brace against Peterborough United on Thursday evening and admits reaching 20 would be brilliant.
But admits his goalscoring efforts will mean absolutely nothing if Rovers remain in League One next season, although he believes the team have enough to get the job done, with only three matches left this term.
“We know we are always going to score goals because we have players who are outstanding for this level like Danny [Graham], Arma [Adam Armstrong], Marcus [Antonsson, Dom [Samuel]," Dack told iFollow Rovers. "Even Payney [Jack Payne] who never even got on on Thursday night.
Speaking about his own song that the fans sing, Bradley added that it's a "lovely feeling" to hear the supporters chanting his name and wants to repay that faith with the ultimate prize.
“It gives you goosebumps and is a lovely feeling," he said when asked. "They’ve settled me in straight away and it’s unbelievable how they’ve taken to me straight away, too.
“Hopefully we can repay them with a promotion. I think we need two more wins but we’re going for all three. There’s no secret that we want to win the league, not just go up.
“It would be great to reach 20 goals, but that won’t matter as long as we get promoted."
