Bradley Dack may be in contention for a return to the Rovers starting eleven on Saturday, but boss Tony Mowbray is mindful not to rush him back too quickly.
The summer signing from Gillingham has had an interrupted start to his Rovers career with niggling hamstring strains picked up against Southend United and Bradford City.
But having trained for the past week during the international break he is expected to travel with the rest of the squad to Rochdale on Saturday, though he isn't likely to play the full 90 minutes as he is eased back into it.
“Bradley, we have to be careful not to throw him in too soon," said the Rovers boss.
“If we did that I’m sure he would break down again.
“There is a programme for him over and beyond everyone else to try and strengthen the hamstring.
“At the moment the hamstring is fine and he has come through the last seven to 10 days of training with no problems.
“The adrenaline levels you get to on a matchday and the expectation to find that little bit extra we have suffered twice from that now.
“We either leave him on the bench and give him half an hour or we stick him in the team and give him an hour, but not expose him to 90 minutes for the next month or so.”
