Tony Mowbray hopes Rovers can make the most of the run of home games coming up over the next few weeks.
Starting with tonight's match against Rotherham United, Rovers have five league matches in quick succession at Ewood Park.
Rovers haven't yet hit top form on home soil, and the manager believes the side have to show that mental toughness to get the wins in front of the Ewood faithful.
"We have a great opportunity over the next month or so," said Mowbray. "I think four out of the next five games are at home and we have to try and take advantage of it.
"Yet, on the evidence of this season, and on the evidence of recent seasons, winning at home on a regular basis has been a problem.
"We have to try and buck that trend. It isn't easy, there is an expectation of the players, and if it isn't going well, it can become heavy and confidence can get knocked.
"That is when you see the characters, the big characters in the team come forward. To keep driving on and playing forward, trying to put the ball in the box, trying to get in the box, trying to ask questions of the opposition, rather than the weak personalities not getting on the ball enough and not getting forward."
