Tony Mowbray believes his side's display in Tuesday night's 2-0 win over Rotherham United should the be basis of all performances moving forward.

The Rovers put in a dominant display at Ewood Park, eventually running out comfortable winners.

Now as they prepare to take on Gillingham on Saturday, the manager insists they have to continue to be brave on the ball and resilient in defence.

"At home that is what we have to do," said Mowbray.

"We have to be brave we have to spread out, we have to pass it through lines, we have to come into the spaces and the holes and run in behind and threaten.

"I thought we did all of those things against Rotherham.

"We have to understand what it takes to win each game. We have to be resilient and hard to play against, but there are other days where we really have to expand, to play wide, to play two strikers, and ask questions of other teams.

"So it is getting the balance each week of how we are going to set up, how we are going to try to get the victory.

"This league doesn't allow you to turn up and play, you have to know how you are going to get results."
