New signing Sam Hart says it is an honour to sign for the club.

The former Liverpool left-back, who joined on deadline day, was born in Bolton and has many family members who are Rovers fans.

The 20-year-old admits he used to come to Ewood Park when he was younger and now can't wait to swap the terraces for the turf.

"A lot of my family actually support Blackburn, so it is a massive thing for me to actually play for them," said Hart, who has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal.

"It is an honour, I'm really excited.

"I kept it all quiet because a lot of surprises can happen on deadline day, so I didn't want to curse anything, but they'll be very excited and pleased for me.

"I've been to Ewood to watch the Bolton v Blackburn derby a few times, so I can't wait to get playing there.

"The games have always been special. It is a lovely ground and I can't wait to be on the other side of it now."
