Rovers' man of the moment Joe Nuttall has been nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for August.
The 20-year-old has been in impressive goalscoring form at the start of the season, marking his first PL2 outing with a hat-trick in a 5-1 win over Wolves, before netting a brace as Rovers defeated Reading 5-3 four days later.
Last Friday night saw Nuttall head an 89th minute winner to beat Southampton and ensure a 100% start for Damien Johnson's Under-23s. He then followed that up with the a goal on his senior debut as Rovers defeated Stoke 1-0 in the Checkatrade Trophy.
Nuttall is one of eight players selected as a result of PL2 managers nominating the best individual performance from each of their opposing teams throughout the past month.
The other shortlisted candidates are Kyle Edwards (West Bromwich Albion), Hamza Choudhury (Leicester City), Ethan Ampadu (Chelsea), George Williams (Fulham), Marcus Tavernier (Middlesbrough), Kellan Gordon (Derby County) and Reiss Nelson (Arsenal).
