Rovers Ladies comfortably made it through to round two of the Women's Premier League Cup with a 3-0 win over Barnsley on Sunday.
A brace from Saffron Jordan, either side of a strike from sub Faye McCoy, made it three wins from three this season and ensured progression in the cup.
Full of confidence going into the match, the Ladies found Barnsley a tough side to break down, as whilst they enjoyed plenty of possession, they struggled to carve out any clear-cut openings.
But their persistence paid off with the opening goal right on half-time when Jess Holbrook saw her effort saved, but last season's top scorer Jordan was there to beat her marker to the ball to force home the rebound.
The second half saw the home side ram home their advantage with two goals in a matter of minutes just past the hour mark.
Half-time substitute McCoy grabbed her third goal of the season with a wonderful curled effort into the top corner, before Jordan grabbed her second of the game, pouncing on a loose ball in the area.
Gemma Donnelly's side should have had more goals to show for their dominance in the closing stages, but they'll be satisfied to be safely through to the next round.
ROVERS: Myler, Pearson, Fryer (sub Powell 61), McDonald, Jukes, Fenton, Holbrook, Shepherd, A. Taylor (sub McCoy 46), Jordan and Walsh (sub M. Taylor 55)
