It felt good out there

Marcus Antonsson enjoyed his 'new role' in the team in Tuesday night's 2-0 win over Rotherham United.

The Swede returned to the starting line-up to great effect, scoring the opening goal at Ewood Park - his third strike since joining a season-long loan from Leeds United - and putting in a man-of-the-match display.

The striker played the game on the left-wing, and whilst he admitted he hadn't played in that position for some considerable time, he enjoyed the benefits that it brought.

"It was a long time ago that I played out wide like that but I liked it," he told iFollow Rovers.

"I think there is more space, I had a free role, I could go in behind like I want to do.

"I was a threat out there and it felt good.

"So we'll see what happens in the future where the gaffer wants me. As long as I am on the pitch I am happy."

Antonsson and Rovers are back at Ewood this Saturday when Gillingham are the visitors.
