Tony Mowbray believe the competition for places in the squad is starting to bear fruit in terms of results.

The Rovers boss has been delighted with the impact that his subs have made in recent weeks and feels they are all champing at the bit to play their part.

Mowbray believes that with a busy schedule of fixtures coming up they'll all get an opportunity and a chance to impress.

"They have had a good impact in the last couple of games," the manager told iFollow Rovers.

"And that is a credit to them that they aren't sitting on the bench sulking and moping.

"They are sitting on the bench hoping to get on and make a difference in the games and try and get themselves in the starting eleven.

"So I'm fully aware, and I've said it from the start, whilst it is not the biggest squad in the league, I'm pretty sure there is some quality there that we need to try and utilise, not over-use, and make sure everybody feels a part of what we are trying to achieve and get that balance right.

"You've got to get the balance on the pitch and picking teams right, and you've got to get the balance of the squad and make sure you try to keep everybody engrossed in the project of winning football matches and being at the top end of the table."
