Rovers duo Corry Evans and Charlie Mulgrew are both in World Cup qualifying action this Friday evening.
Evans is with the Northern Ireland squad for their match in San Marino, whilst Mulgrew's Scotland take on Lithuania in Vilnius.
The Northern Irish have an excellent chance of reaching the play-off stage of the qualification process. They currently sit second in their group, five points behind Germany who have a 100% record of six wins from six games, but four points better than the Czech Republic.
When they met San Marino in Belfast last October they ran out comfortable 4-0 winners. A similar result this evening will go some way to cementing their second position.
In contrast, the Scots face an uphill task in reaching the November play-offs. To have any chance of finishing second Gordon Strachan's side need to claim maximum points from the two games this month. They could only draw 1-1 with Lithuania in the corresponding fixture last year.
Currently fourth in Group F, they sit four points behind second-placed Slovakia with four games remaining.
The nine group winners all qualify for next year's finals in Russia, the best eight runners-up will then play-off in a bid to join them.
The other Rovers player away on international duty is goalkeeper Jayson Leutwiler. He is with the Canada national team who face Jamaica in a friendly in Toronto on Saturday.
