Striker Danny Graham is eyeing a return to the Rovers starting line-up this weekend at Shrewsbury Town.
Last season's top scorer started the first two matches of the 2017-18 campaign, but has since had to settle for a place on the substitute's bench with Dominic Samuel and Marcus Antonsson preferred in attack.
The 32-year-old undertands that it is going to take all of the squad to achieve their goals this season, and is eager to grasp his opportunity when it next comes along.
"The gaffer changed it after two games, which is rightly so," said Graham.
"I think me and Whits came out of the team and he had his reasons for that and so be it. The boys won four in a row.
"So I'm disappointed not to be playing, but also delighted that the boys are picking up results and doing well.
"I'm just dying to get back in there and if I get the call Saturday or Tuesday then I'll be ready. Wanting to do as well as I can for the team.
"It is going to be a massive squad effort throughout the season, I'm itching to be playing and itching to be a part of it and doing well for Blackburn Rovers.
"I'm ready and waiting, the only focus I've got, and the boys have got, is to make sure we get promoted."
