Rovers are expected to welcome Craig Conway back to the squad for Saturday's home match with AFC Wimbledon.

Rovers are expected to welcome Craig Conway back to the squad for Saturday's home match with AFC Wimbledon.

The Rovers midfielder missed the midweek win over Scunthorpe United after suffering a hip injury the previous Saturday at Rochdale.

And having come through training this Thursday, provided there is no reaction, then he'll be in contention for Tony Mowbray's starting XI.

However as one midfielder returns, another is likely to be absent, as Rekeem Harper needs a scan on a thigh strain.

The 17-year-old made his debut in the 1-0 win at Glanford Park, but injury forced him off at half-time.

Speaking this Thursday lunchtime, the Rovers boss said: "Rekeem is going for a scan this afternoon, whilst Craig was back out on the pitches this morning.

"So one probably won't be ready for the weekend, but fingers crossed, if there is no reaction to training today or tomorrow then one will be back. So it is looking okay.

"With Rekeem, he is just feeling his thigh, we're not anticipating it is anything too bad, it is probably just a minor injury. I would only anticipate it being a week or so."

Rovers continue to be without Darragh Lenihan, Scott Wharton and Ryan Nyambe through injury.
