Paul Downing believes Rovers' performances on the road can give them the belief to get a result against high-flying Shrewsbury this Saturday.
Rovers have won their last three away matches in the league, keeping clean sheets on each occasion as they defeated Bradford City, Rochdale and Scunthorpe United.
This weekend sees Tony Mowbray's side travel to take on the league leaders, but despite a strong start to the season from the Shropshire club, Downing feels Rovers can go there full of confidence.
"Obviously we went on a decent run beating some strong teams away from home," said the defender.
"But then we disappointed in front of our own fans not to get the win and keep that run going.
"Now we've a big week coming up with three games and we are looking forward to Shrewsbury.
"They have had a fantastic start and are unbeaten, so it is a good one for us to go there and try to put down another marker with a good away win."
Rovers will be roared on by some 1500 supporters after their selling out their allocation for the match at the Montgomery Waters Meadows, and Downing hopes it will make for another great occasion.
"We've sold our allocation as well so it is going to be another great following, he added.
"I played in the Rochdale game where the fans were fantastic. I really enjoyed it.
"But we've got to give respect to Shrewsbury, winning seven out of eight in the league is a fantastic start and they are going to be full of confidence and it is going to be a difficult game.
"But we are going to have to go there, put on a performance, and hopefully get the three points."
