Rovers boss Tony Mowbray has revealed that Corry Evans and Paul Downing trained with the squad on Thursday, but won't make a decision on the duo until after Friday's session.
The duo missed Saturday's trip to Oldham Athletic with an ankle and hamstring injury respectively, but will hope to be ready for this weekend's game at Ewood Park.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Mowbray says he trusts his squad and will assess the pair again tomorrow afternoon.
“It was their first day back today, they came through the session okay," he told reporters.
“As Corry proved the other week, he trained on the Thursday but didn’t make the weekend, so let’s see how they react tomorrow.
“If they come though tomorrow they’ll be in the squad and available for selection.
Asked if Rovers have missed Evans and Downing, he added: “I’m not sure. I can’t sit here and say our midfield has been really poor the last few games.
“You have to trust your squad. Have we missed them? If Paul gets back in and we keep another three clean sheets, we probably did.
“At this moment, he has to get fit and if he’s selected this weekend he has to perform as he has in previous games."
The manager was also asked about Craig Conway's return to the side, and believes he's now approaching full fitness again.
"I think the hip injury knocked him a little bit," he said. "I spoke to him today and he feels back to full throttle, he trained extremely well today as he always does and he's in contention.
"It's just trying to pick a team to win a football match, every game is different. You need to pick your team according to the match."
