Rovers star kicks off Poppy Appeal

Darragh Lenihan was a special guest at Blackburn Market this morning

27 October 2017

Rovers defender Darragh Lenihan was on hand to help launch this year’s Blackburn with Darwen Poppy Appeal.

Darragh joined members of the Royal British Legion, the Deputy Mayor of Blackburn, Councillor Pat McFall, and Poppy Appeal Organiser Eddie Maxwell to kick off the event.

The official launch was held at the Spuds stall in Blackburn Market, where poppies and other fundraising items can be bought.

The Poppy Appeal is the Royal British Legion’s biggest fundraising campaign, held every year in November – the period of Remembrance – to raise valuable funds to honour people who have served for their country.
