Saturday afternoon’s swift return to Ewood Park action means another chance for supporters to enjoy our award-winning matchday experience.
Among the non-football highlights of Saturday’s League One encounter with Portsmouth is a return performance from top North West performer Zoe Unsworth – a teenage sensation who was among the many star names on the Foster’s FanZone stage last season that helped us to win the EFL’s Family Club of the Year Award for our division.
She will be performing alongside many other eye-catching off-field events, aimed at individuals, families and groups of friends alike.
The itinerary reads as follows…
10am Roverstore opens. The store opens early for souvenir hunters, as well as re-opening for one hour after the full-time whistle.
11am Blues Bar opens. Matchday membership helps you to secure entry, with food also available from midday.
12pm Strikers’ Lounge opens. Based on the second floor of the Blackburn End, entry is free for all families with valid match tickets – access via the Blackburn End reception. Please note that the Sensory Room is now only available via advance booking only – email Julie via firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01254 508202 to confirm your place for babies or young fans with a disability.
12.30pm The Foster’s FanZone opens. Chelsea v Watford will be shown live on the big screen, with music, news and views on stage. Hot food and cold drinks are also available.
1pm Rover the Dog arrives. Keep an eye out for our biggest and cuddliest fan as he patrols his stadium!
1.15pm The Penalty Shoot Out Challenge opens. Head to the corner of the Jack Walker Stand and the Blackburn End where our speed of shot test will be up and running, with prizes for taking part.
1.30pm Turnstiles open. A special treat in The GAME Room sees us hosting the GAME Community Cup, a special skills challenge being contested by a whole host of clubs up and down the country. Come and take part to see if you’ll be our club winner.
2pm Zoe Unsworth on stage. Completing a hat-trick of FanZone appearances is a locally-based singer/songwriter, who was a nominee at last year’s Unsigned Music Awards. She has also performed at huge venues such as the Etihad Stadium and Old Trafford, as well as supporting big names like Georgie Fame, Scouting for Girls and The Lightning Seeds. Check out her music now at zoeunsworth.co.uk or follow @zoeumusic on Twitter.
2.25pm Read out the team sheets. Any child aged 16 or under can come and join us on the FanZone stage to conduct the first read-out of the confirmed Rovers line-up, with a goodie bag for taking part too.
2.50pm Guard of honour. We’re very pleased to welcome Llysfaen Junior Football Club from north Wales, who will form the touchline-based flag parade and act as player escorts as the teams emerge from the tunnel.
3.50pm Half-time penalties. The youngsters from Llysfaen return to showcase their skills on the Ewood Park pitch.
3.55pm GAME Community Cup winner revealed. All the pre-match participants need to keep an eye on the GAME Room or listen out over the PA system as we confirm the winner of our pre-game tournament.
4.45pm Full-time. Any men aged 50 or over are urged to look out for our leaflet distribution team who will be handing out key information regarding next Saturday’s prostate cancer screening event at Ewood Park.
Don’t forget that you can buy tickets right through until kick-off, with handy extra savings if you upgrade to being a member of the 1875 Club.
