Rovers Ladies maintained their perfect start to the season and stretched their unbeaten run in the league to 27 games with a 2-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion.
Goals from Natasha Fenton and Saffron Jordan secured the points for Gemma Donnelly’s side, who move up to second in the table, with three games in hand over league leaders Middlesbrough.
The Baggies threatened first, with Hannah Fryer doing well to deny Leanne Mitchell, before Lauren Price's effort from a corner rattled the crossbar.
Rovers were let off again as Nicole Dale was played in behind the defence, but her low drive went wide of Danielle Hill's near post.
The hosts grew into the game, with Jordan seeing a goal-bound shot blocked, before full-back Kelsey Pearson tested the keeper from a tight angle.
The breakthrough arrived on 25 minutes when Fenton’s free-kick evaded everyone in the box and found the far corner.
West Brom were denied by the woodwork again before the break, as Mitchell’s shot hit the post, and Price blazed the rebound over the bar.
The second half would see a much improved Rovers performance, with Kayleigh McDonald and Jordan going close in the opening minutes.
Rovers almost doubled their lead when debutant Kaya Pottinger delivered a peach of a cross, only for Meghan Taylor to head over from close range.
Soon after, the hosts wrapped up the win when Jordan spun her marker and drove goalwards, before slotting the ball into the bottom corner to secure a fifth straight league win.
