Blackburn Rovers stars Charlie Mulgrew and Corry Evans will be hoping to take a step closer to World Cup qualification with their respective countries on Thursday evening.
Rovers captain Mulgrew is expected to represent Scotland in their crucial clash against Slovakia at Hampden Park, before they travel to Ljubljana to take on Slovenia on Sunday.
The Scots, who currently sit fourth in Group F, need to win both games to stand any chance of reaching the qualification play-offs in November.
Meanwhile, midfielder Evans has linked up with Northern Ireland ahead of their meeting with reigning world champions Germany in Belfast, and trip to Norway this weekend.
Michael O'Neill's side are guaranteed second place in Group C and only an unlikely series of results over the coming days will deny them a place in next month's play-offs.
The nine group winners will automatically qualify for next year's finals in Russia, with the eight best runners-up facing a further knock-out stage in a bid to join them.
Following this week's fixtures, Mulgrew and Evans will head back to East Lancashire in preparation for Rovers' Sky Bet League One match at Oldham on Saturday October 14th.
