Rovers manager Tony Mowbray has chosen his line-up ahead of tonight's Checkatrade Trophy group game against Rochdale.

The boss has opted to make several changes from the side that beat Barnet in the FA Cup at the weekend.

In-form striker Joe Nuttall has been rewarded for his recent performances with a first senior start, while Dominic Samuel and Richie Smallwood are back following suspension.

Young defender Scott Wharton makes his first appearance of the season, while fellow Under-23s Matty Platt, Lewis Travis and Joe Rankin-Costello are on the bench.

Andrew Fisher, who featured in the two previous group games, starts in goal in place of Jayson Leutwiler, who has picked up an injury.

Blues trio Derrick Williams, Bradley Dack and Danny Graham have been given the night off.

Here are the teams in full:

Rochdale: Lillis, Rafferty, Ntlhe, Canavan, McGahey, Slew, Camps (c), J. Williams, Rathbone, Adshead, Bunney. Subs: Moore, Done, Inman, Cannon, Morley, Kitching, Gillam.

Rovers: Fisher, Nyambe, Ward, Wharton, Hart, Bennett (c), Harper, Smallwood, Gladwin, Samuel, Nuttall. Subs: Raya, Platt, Caddis, Travis, Whittingham, Rankin-Costello, Antonsson.

Kick-off at the Crown Oil Arena is scheduled for 7:45pm and, as always, fans can follow live updates via our official Twitter account.
