Rovers up for Community award

The club will hope to claim the prestigious prize at tonight's ceremony

Blackburn Rovers Community Trust is one of four contenders to be named Community Club of the Year at tonight's Northwest Football Awards.

The trust is up against Preston North End Community and Education Trust, Wigan Athletic Community Trust and Tranmere Rovers in the Community.

Rovers proudly claimed the award at in 2015 and, following record numbers for engagement in 2017, is among the favourites once again. 

Gary Robinson, CEO of the Trust, said: “Everyone at the Community Trust has worked hard as a team this year and it has been one to remember so far. 

“We have grown and developed in a number of areas with our primary aim to make a positive impact in the local community and beyond.”

Rovers stars Derrick Williams and Elliott Bennett are also up for individual awards, with the winners announced tonight (November 13th) at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford.
