Rovers have been drawn at home to League Two club Crewe Alexandra in the second round of the FA Cup.

The tie will take place at Ewood Park over the first weekend of December (1-4).

Tony Mowbray's men booked their place in the draw, which was conducted by two former Rovers players - Andy Cole and Kevin Davies - courtesy of a 3-1 victory over Barnet, whilst Crewe scored a last-minute winner to defeat Rovers' League One rivals Rotherham 2-1.

The two teams met at Ewood in the second round of the League Cup last season, with Rovers prevailing 4-3 after extra-time.

It was a memorable day for defender Scott Wharton, who netted Rovers' second goal to become one of the youngest scorers in the club's history. Craig Conway was also on the scoresheet that night.

Rovers and Crewe have met on eight previous occasions - including twice in the FA Cup.

The last time the two sides met in the competition was during the inaugural season of the Premier League, in January 1993, when goals from Roy Wegerle, Mike Newell and Kevin Moran booked Rovers' place in the fifth round.
