Rovers manager Tony Mowbray has confirmed that Craig Conway won't feature in this weekend's FA Cup first-round match against Barnet.

The Blues go into this weekend's game at Ewood Park with a number of suspensions and injuries, following Tuesday's 2-2 draw with Fleetwood.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Mowbray provided an update on his squad and confirmed that Conway has picked up a knock ahead of the clash.

“I think we’ve got 18 fit or available players, but we want to be positive, ask questions of Barnet and test them," he said.

“It’s going to be a tough day, we’ll be asked a lot of questions physically and will have to stand up and be counted.

“One who played last time who won’t be playing on Saturday is Conway; Craig is feeling his hamstring a little bit, he’ll get some scans and tests on that.

“Harry Chapman is unavailable after the injury [against Wigan] at weekend, and Dominic [Samuel] and Richie [Smallwood] are suspended.

“So we’ve got a few injuries and a few suspensions, but we’ll pick a team we think is capable of winning this game.

“We don’t want to jeopardise anything in the cup competitions and, yet, we want to win every game and we’ll be trying to win on Saturday."

Rovers could welcome back Elliott Bennett this weekend - the midfielder is available for selection after serving a one-match ban.
