Rovers' Emirates FA Cup campaign officially begins on Saturday, when League Two side Barnet travel to Ewood Park in the first round.
Here's our guide to the game...
STATE OF PLAY
As mentioned, Tony Mowbray's men will enter the competition at the first-round stage this season and will be favourites to progress here, with 39 places between the sides ahead of this weekend's match. Kick-off for the first-ever competitive meeting between the teams is scheduled for 3pm, and fans can follow the action via our official Twitter account, with highlights available for iFollow Rovers subscribers after the game.
Rovers will be without suspended duo Dominic Samuel (red card v Portsmouth) and Richie Smallwood (five yellow cards), though Elliott Bennett is available for selection again after serving a one-match ban. Darragh Lenihan remains a long-term absentee, while Harry Chapman is also out with a hamstring injury. Mowbray could provide a further update on his squad on Thursday and, as always, we'll bring you news of both starting line-ups in the build-up to kick-off on matchday.
Saturday’s opponents have endured a difficult season so far. The Bees currently sit just outside the League Two relegation zone, having failed to pick up a win in any competition since September 9th. Rossi Eames' side had started the campaign brightly, and arguably their best result of the season to date was a 4-1 win at high-flying Swindon, courtesy of a hat-trick from top scorer Shaquile Coulthirst. The striker, who turned 23 on Thursday, was later named League Two Player of the Month and could be back in contention after missing Barnet's defeat at Accrington last weekend.
