Rovers defender Paul Caddis took time away from his busy schedule preparing for the FA Cup to visit the children who attended the Community Trust's Autumn Football Camp.
The camp was busy from Monday all the way through to Friday and Caddis saw first-hand how exciting the sessions are, with the children enjoying a fantastic week off school.
The Scottish full-back spent time participating in small-sided games with the young footballers and also talked about his experiences of playing professional football and, of course, how much he enjoys playing in the FA Cup.
Caddis has been a consistent performer for Rovers this season, helping Tony Mowbray’s men rise into sixth spot in the table, but his attention is now firmly on arguably the most famous domestic cup competition in world football.
Speaking at the Blackburn Rovers Indoor Centre at Ewood Park, Caddis explained why he thought the Football Camps are a great idea.
“It is always good for players to give a bit back to the local community," he said. "I really enjoyed the Football Camp and it is nice to see all the children smiling and wanting to talk to you.
“Many of the children come and support the team week-in week-out, so it is important that we get to meet our young supporters and they are getting the chance to play football at an early age.
“The Football Camps are a place where children can go in the holidays and every single one of them seems to be having a great time.
“We hope to see a lot of them cheering us on for our first FA Cup game of the season. It is a special competition and cup football is always exciting.”
The Autumn Football Camp concludes a successful year for the programme, with numerous highlights throughout 2017.
The sessions have been provided by our FA qualified coaches and each day has been different in order to keep the children active and entertained.
We have seen a number of familiar and plenty of new faces this year and we hope to see you all return for 2018!
