We know the job that needs to be done

6 May 2017

Sam Gallagher knows what he and his Rovers team-mates need to do to make it a successful Sunday.

Rovers travel to the capital to take on Brentford knowing they need a victory to stand any chance of avoiding the dreaded drop.

The striker feels the squad have prepared well this week, and off the back of victory over Aston Villa last time out, can approach the lunchtime match full of confidence.

"We've had a good week preparing for the game and we know what we needs to be done and what we have to do," Gallagher told Rovers PlayerHD.

"We know the job that we have in front of us and hopefully we can do what we need to.

"Against Aston Villa we knew we had to win that game and that was all we were thinking about so to get the result there has set us up for Sunday.

"It is the same again, that is what our focus is on, we need to win the game. We don't want to win the game by 1-0 either, we want to go out there and make it two or three and give ourselves the best chance we can."

The young forward believes they can draw confidence from the way they have played against the teams at the top of the table this season and feels there is no reason why they can't come away from Griffin Park with a win and Championship safety.

"We've shown that we can play well against them and play well against teams that are in even higher positions," he added. "So it is definitely a game that we can go out there and do the business.

"There is no set way to play, you've got to be able to adapt, you've got to deal with the different things that teams throw against you, and I think we've done that really well as a team. Especially since the gaffer has come in. So I think all the boys are confident."
