Lucas Joao has paid tribute to the club for providing him with the opportunity to get some games under his belt during the second half of the season.
Having fallen down the pecking order at parent club Sheffield Wednesday, Joao joined Rovers in January until the end of the 2016-17 Championship campaign.
The Portuguese striker scored three goals in 13 appearances for the club and the 23-year-old was eager to thank the Rovers players and fans for making him feel welcome at Ewood Park.
“I want to say thank you to Rovers for giving me game time again on the football pitch,” said Joao. “It was so good to play for this club.
“Thank you to the fans for all the support they gave to us – I appreciate that.
“To the boys, a big thank you. The time I spent with you guys on and off the pitch was amazing.
“I am disappointed for what happened to us, but the future will be better. Thank you one more time.”
