We've got to keep plugging away

7 March 2017

Jason Steele insists the side have to remained focused on the job in hand with another massive game at Ewood Park this evening.

Rovers take on Cardiff City tonight looking to make it a hat-trick of home wins but the keeper knows that will be a tough match against the much-improved Bluebirds.

"We've got to go again on Tuesday with another massive game," said Steele. "Win on Tuesday and keep on going, keep plugging away.

"We look solid, we look tough, resolute, organised and at times we know that we've got the players to be able to win games.

"But Cardiff have done ever so well since Neil Warnock has gone in there. They have pulled themselves right up the league and watching them on the telly, they are a strong, physical team who are going to make it a hell of a tough game.

"They have quick wingers and a big striker up top who is going to make work his behind off.

"So we know what we are in for already, we've all watch football so we know what is coming on Tuesday, but we'll stay positive and on the front foot and have a go at them."

The keeper also paid tribute to the fantastic support that has helped Rovers over the line this past week and has called for more of the same this evening.

"Hopefully everybody comes back out again on Tuesday night and gives us the same support because it was brilliant," he added.

"You've got an extra body in there heading the ball away when the crowd are up like that. Cheering every catch, every block, every header, it is fantastic.

"It feels good at the minute, it feels like everyone is really positive, everybody is sticking together. Not just the lads, but the staff and the fans, we are all pulling hopefully away from the situation that we've got ourselves in."
