Together we can achieve

17 March 2017

Tony Mowbray believes if the positivity continues to be maintained both on and off the pitch then he can only see positive things for the football club.

The Rovers boss has repeatedly said how impressed he has been with the support that he and the players have received from the fans since taking over three weeks ago and feels that they have a vital role to play.

Mowbray has been delighted at how together both supporters and players alike have been and hopes that it can continue this weekend against Preston North End in Saturday's 1pm kick-off at Ewood.

"I've gone on record in saying that the fans have been amazing since I've been at the football club," said the head coach.

"The away supporters at all the games have travelled in big numbers and made fantastic encouragement for the team.

"At home it has been very similar, there's been times when we've been hanging on against the likes of Derby to get the three points and they saw us over the line. Against Cardiff when we've needed a goal they've driven us on to get that late goal.

"So hopefully together we can achieve, starting with three points against Preston. It would be great for the players to give the fans a huge lift with three points at home against a local rival and for our own league position it isn't going to worsen if we get three points at the weekend.

"I think the supporters have been right there behind the team. I hadn't been here previously so I don't know what the atmosphere was like, but I've felt a really strong positive attitude towards the team and their efforts on the pitch. If that continues then I can only see positive things happening for both the team and the club."
