Blackburn Rovers Ladies have a new partnership with the University of Bolton to provide the Ladies team with extra support medically.
The partnership will help promote courses for the University whilst providing the Ladies team with musculoskeletal and prehabilitation screening as well as performance analysis and monitoring.
The University of Bolton’s Assistant Vice Chancellor Bill Webster and Ladies Manager Gemma Donnelly signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to formalise the partnership.
The partnership will also create student placement opportunities for third year undergraduates inside the University of Bolton as well as creating staff and student workshops.
First-team Manager Gemma Donnelly is delighted with the partnership and believes it will help both parties progress.
"I am delighted to have forged a link with the University of Bolton (UoB) in collaboration with Rovers Ladies," said Donnelly.
"This will enable our players to access state of the art facilities and equipment that is designed to support player/athlete development.
"In return, UoB will have the opportunity to utilise Blackburn Rovers Ladies with placements for students to access on-site opportunities that are linked with a professional football club.
"The partnership benefits both parties and I am looking forward to working with the University of Bolton."
