Tony Mowbray has called for one last push when they take on Preston North End in the 1pm kick-off on Saturday.

A busy fixture schedule has meant that tomorrow's match at Ewood Park will be the club's seventh game in the last 22 days.

Rovers have remained unbeaten during that time, and after two important points on the road at Norwich and Fulham, and ahead of the forthcoming international break, the boss knows it is essential to finish the current run of matches with a win over their near-neighbours.

"They've worked extremely hard, we've remained unbeaten but we've got to try and back up some draws over the last week with a victory at the weekend if we can," Mowbray told Rovers PlayerHD.

"The players have shown a great desire and a work ethic, when we've been down we've worked very hard to get a goal back, and when we've been a goal up we've defended very resolutely to make sure we can keep the points.

"We face a team at the weekend who are only a few points outside the play-offs, and sniffing an opportunity if there's a slip-up by a team in the top six, so they'll be coming with a desire to get the points.

"For us, on the back of the two draws, it is very important to try and cement them as good draws by getting three points.

"We can't draw too many matches, you have to win some games along the way. I think draws thrown in amongst wins are good as they keep the confidence going, but you might as well win one game and lose two as oppose to drawing three for our predicament.

"But it is a fine balance, confidence of the team and points, and we need to get three at the weekend if we can."
