The fans have a huge part to play

Tony Mowbray has been hugely impressed by the backing that the team have received since taking charge.

The Rovers boss was delighted with the support in his first game at Burton, and again in Tuesday night's victory over Derby County.

Mowbray knows that the fans have an important role to play, and with their backing he believes that the team can have a successful end to the season.

"In my first two games the fans have been quite amazing I have to say," Mowbray told Rovers PlayerHD.

"It is great for me to see the support base wholly behind the team, that is what I have seen and felt in two games.

"The away support was magnificent at Burton in that stand, it was good for the away supporters that night because it was tight with a low ceiling, they could make a lot of noise that echoed around the stadium and it felt great.

"At home, I think that when we needed them the other night they were right there with us and they saw us over the line in the last half an hour when it was becoming more difficult as Derby pinned us in.

"So the fans have got a huge part to play, and if, for the remainder of the season, they are behind the team as much as they have been in the first two games then we've got a great chance together.

"We have a better chance of getting out of this predicament with everybody on board, with the fans on board and all the players giving everything that they've got.

"Hopefully we can achieve that and that the fans are looking forward to the challenge of helping the team achieve it."
