Rovers will play Swansea City in the last 16 of the Premier League Cup.

After progressing through their group as runners-up to Sunderland with three wins and a draw from their six matches, the reward for Damien Johnson's side is an away tie against their Premier League 2 rivals.

Rovers and the Swans have already met twice in the league this season, with table-topping Swansea defeating the Lancashire club on both occasions.

Rovers reached the final of the competition in 2015, losing out over two legs to Southampton after extra-time as a certain Sam Gallagher grabbed the winner for the Saints.

The draw in full:

Portsmouth v Sheffield United
Brighton & Hove Albion v Huddersfield Town
Newcastle United v West Ham United
Reading v Middlesbrough or Charlton Athletic
Hull City v Liverpool
Norwich City v Fulham
Swansea City v Rovers
Sunderland v Colchester United

A straight knockout match, with extra-time and penalties should they be required, ties will be played between March 17th-20th. We hope to confirm venue, date and kick-off time soon.
