Blackburn Rovers have been named as one of the club's shortlisted for the Nickelodeon Family Club of the Year award.
Rovers, along with Brighton & Hove Albion, are the two clubs from the Sky Bet Championship to be up for the EFL award.
The club's new-look Blackburn Rovers Community Trust Family Stand has been a huge hit with supporters who can enjoy a safe and friendly family environment on a matchday. It has been rightly recognised by the league's governing body.
Thanks to the sterling work from the Community Trust, fans can make use of The GAME Room, enjoying console action and the most popular games on the market, courtesy of GAME Blackburn. Whilst to encourage healthy eating, McDonald’s give out a minimum of 100 free fruit bags at every game on a first-come, first-served basis from their information point next to the turnstiles.
Striker's Lounge in the Blackburn End continues to be a popular destination, whilst also located there is the groundbreaking Sensory Room. Specially designed for children with disabilities - believed to have been the first of it's kind in the country.
Shaun Harvey, EFL Chief Executive, said: “Off the pitch our clubs continue to have a positive and lasting impact in their local communities, using the power of football to deliver life-changing programmes and activities.
“The EFL Awards are a fantastic way to recognise the achievements of clubs, players, back room staff and fans and I would like to personally congratulate everyone who has been nominated and wish them all the best on the night itself.”
