Tony Mowbray has heaped praise on the job that Simon Grayson has done at Preston.

The Rovers boss has been impressed with how the former Rovers player has taken the Lilywhites from League One to now be in the shake-up for the end of season play-off places.

And as the two Lancashire sides lock horns at Ewood Park tomorrow at 1pm, Mowbray knows it will be a tough match.

"I hadn't seen Preston this season, so I've only just started watching them, but what I do know is that they are in a decent league position," said the head coach.

"There are some huge clubs in this league and with total respect to Preston they are not too long out of the league below. But they have managed to stabilise themselves very well in the Championship and are now pushing on towards trying to make the play-offs.

"So you have got to be very impressed with the job that Simon Grayson has done. We know that they are going to be a tough ask for us.

"I had Aiden McGeady at Celtic when I was there, a fantastic individual with wonderfully fast feet, a player that we are going to have to be mindful of.

"They'll be very hardworking, very honest, as Simon's teams always are, and we are going to have to be at our best to try and get three points."
