Tony Mowbray has hailed the work of Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock.

Since being installed as the Bluebirds manager in October, Warnock has overseen a rise up the Championship with the Welsh club now in the top half of the table.

Mowbray isn't surprised to see Warnock's side doing so well in the division as the hugely experienced boss has done it time and time again at different clubs.

"He's been doing that for a long time," said the Rovers head coach. "Not just at Cardiff but if you look at the amazing job he did at Rotherham last season, from looking dead and buried to saving them with a huge win percentage that he managed to achieve.

"Again with Cardiff this season it is quite remarkable but should we be surprised because he has done it all his career. I'm not sure how old Neil is now, but he is still doing an amazing job and the whole of football is aware of that.

"It will be good to see him, I've managed against him a lot over the years, he is a very intense guy on the touchline and yet sitting in the office after the game he is very genial.

"So lets see how we will get on, we know what is coming, we know that they will ask questions, we know that they can play direct with big, strong and powerful strikers and very tricky wingers.

"It is a big test for us and one that we are looking forward to."
