Lucas Joao is delighted to be playing football with a smile on his face once more.
After a spell without any meaningful game time the on-loan striker is pleased to have been given his chance with Rovers and is keen to repay the Ewood Park club.
The former Portuguese Under-21 international has bagged three crucial goals in his last three games and after a first Rovers start in the draw with Preston North End he is now eager for more.
"Rovers gave me the opportunity to do my job, this is the most important and I want to try and help the team, that is why I am here," said Joao.
"I am so happy, I have been lucky to score the goals, but it’s not only me, to score I need to have the help of my colleagues so I need to say thank you to them for helping me and helping the team and I will try to do better and better.
"It had been a long, long time since I started, but Rovers gave me the opportunity and I enjoyed the game.
"We were unlucky with the result, but we played very well and sometimes that happens in football."
As well as a budding rapport with the fans, the striker has also struck up a great relationship with fellow forward Marvin Emnes.
"We have a good relationship and we are good friends," he added. "We speak every day, all day, and we are good, good friends.
"He’s an experienced guy, he has been at the club before and he has helped me to adapt.
"He’s helped me on and off the pitch."
Rovers are back in action this Saturday when they travel south to face Brighton & Hove Albion.
Fans are reminded that with home areas now all sold out, there will be no sales on the day at the American Express Community Stadium, so advance purchase will be required.
