Danny Graham will miss this weekend's match with Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Rovers striker, who underwent a minor operation on a groin injury during the international break, is making good progress in his recovery, but Saturday's match against the Seagulls comes too soon.
"Danny Graham was on the grass today, he had his boots on and I saw him doing some exercises with the physios, he was side-footing volleys and stuff, so he won't be far away," revealed boss Tony Mowbray.
"If he's got his boots back on and he's on the grass then that is generally a sign that he's not too far away."
Charlie Mulgrew came back from international duty unscathed, Gordon Greer won't be fit to face his former club, whilst Adam Henley continues to step up his fitness from a long-standing hamstring injury.
"Charlie Mulgrew went away and has come back in a positive mood," added the manager.
"Obviously they got a great result late on in their game and that has probably lifted every one of those Scottish players.
"So Charlie has come back strong and fit and raring to go, but Corry Evans isn't going to be available.
"Adam Henley has trained for three weeks. He's played two games, but he's not quite ready yet in my mind to travel and to impact on the team. He needs to keep training, keep impressing, play free and then I have to make a decision as to whether he is worth a place in the team."
Fans are reminded that with home areas now all sold out, there will be no sales on the day at Brighton, so advance purchase will be required.
