Rovers have teamed up with Umbro to unveil the club’s new home kit and training range for the forthcoming season.
The collection is part of the second successive set of bespoke performance garments created for Rovers, showcasing all-new features and an updated design.
The home shirt sees the reintroduction of the famous running diamond to the kit as a visual statement. First introduced in 1977, it was an iconic staple to Umbro jerseys for decades. Forty years on, it is now knitted into the body of the shirt using a lightweight jacquard technology, removing weight and distraction for the player.
The jersey sees a return to a more unexpected take on the traditional blue-and-white halves colour blocking, with a contemporary twist on past iconic styles, whilst on the reverse of the shirt, there is a stylised ‘Rovers’ wording signoff on the back neck.
The kit is constructed with great fit and bold styling at the heart of the design. Elongated articulated panels provide freedom of movement, with stylised hem and club specific stitching details completing the look.
The white home shorts are tailored with stretch fabrics for maximum comfort, featuring contrasted knitted diamonds down the side, to match the sleeves of the jersey.
Double welt socks in traditional Rovers blue feature a white band adorned with the double diamond to complete a kit that matches the modern day footballers’ high level of performance on the pitch.
Rovers midfielder Elliott Bennett, who helped to model the new home strip, said: “It’s always exciting to see what the new kit will look like and I am impressed again. It’s important to keep the home strip traditional, but the added Umbro diamond to the sleeve makes it feel more authentic, as the Umbro logo is instantly recognisable. I’m sure the fans wearing it will agree too.”
Rovers’ new home kit and training range is available for pre-order now from www.roverstore.co.uk, in adult, junior, infant and baby sizes. It will go on sale in the Roverstore at Ewood Park this Friday (June 16th).
An Umbro away kit has also been created and will follow at a later date, with more details to be announced soon.
