Three of Rovers’ rising stars have signed their first professional contracts with the club.
Academy graduates Joe Grayson, Stefan Mols and Charley Doyle have all put pen-to-paper on two-year deals, which will keep them at Ewood Park until the summer of 2019.
Grayson, 18, who is the son of former Rovers right-back Simon Grayson, is a strong central midfielder with a gifted left foot, who can also fill in at the centre of defence.
He made 18 appearances for Damien Johnson’s development squad last season, scoring once in a 3-2 Premier League 2 victory over Fulham in April. Grayson also made eight appearances in 2016-17 for Rovers’ Under-18s.
Spanish starlet Mols, 18, is a versatile and technically-gifted midfielder, who covers every blade of grass and can operate anywhere in the middle of the park.
He made the successful step up to the Under-23s last season, making 13 appearances for Johnson’s side and scored in the Lancashire FA Senior Cup semi-final against Fleetwood Town at Ewood Park in May, which Rovers lost 4-3 on penalties. Mols also netted twice in 23 appearances for the Under-18s.
Doyle, 18, is a composed and dependable central defender, who made his debut for Rovers Under-21s at Villa Park in November 2015.
He made three appearances for the development squad last season and scored once in 18 outings for the Under-18s.
