Carabao Cup draw this lunchtime

The renamed League Cup draw will take place from Thailand at 1pm today

Rovers will be in the hat when the draw for the first round of the Carabao Cup takes place this Friday lunchtime.

The draw will be made at 1pm and will be streamed live from Bangkok, Thailand – the home of the competition’s title sponsor, Carabao Energy Drink.

Fans will be able to watch the draw unfold live on various platforms, including the EFL’s new live streaming platform, iFollow, on Facebook via the Carabao Cup and Carabao UK pages, and on SkySports.com. 

With 70 EFL clubs in the first round, Rovers are one of the 35 seeded teams and will be drawn against one of the following unseeded teams in the Northern Section of the draw:-

Accrington Stanley
Blackpool
Bury
Carlisle United
Chesterfield
Coventry City
Crewe Alexandra
Doncaster Rovers
Grimsby Town
Lincoln City
Mansfield Town
Morecambe
Notts County
Oldham Athletic
Port Vale
Shrewsbury Town
Walsall

Ties for the first round will be played during the week commencing Monday 7th August, with the games chosen to be broadcast live on Sky Sports to be announced on Tuesday June 20th. 

Furthermore, Rovers’ League One fixtures for the 2017-18 season will be released at 9am on Wednesday 21st June.

Rovers fans will be able to find out our schedule for the upcoming campaign, which kicks off over the weekend of Friday 4th to Sunday 6th August, by visiting the club's official media channels on Wednesday morning.

The matches selected for live broadcast from the opening weekend’s fixtures will also be announced by the EFL and broadcaster partner Sky Sports. The first round of matches available to overseas viewers via the new iFollow platform will also be confirmed later on Wednesday afternoon.
