Tony Mowbray believes the additions of Bradley Dack and Ben Gladwin will add some much-needed competition in the forward areas of the team.
The Rovers boss has made four signings to date this summer, with attacking midfielders Dack and Gladwin following Peter Whittingham and Richie Smallwood through the doors at Ewood Park.
Mowbray knows that the competition for places is important to enable the club to have a successful season, and is eager to replicate his midfield options in other areas of the squad.
I see a lot of players that can play behind that striker role.
"We do have a few options to try and fit in the team," said the manager.
"I do look at the board in my office now and I see Elliot Bennett, I see Craig Conway, I see Anthony Stokes, I see Liam Feeney, I see Bradley Dack, I see Ben Gladwin.
"I see a lot of players that can play behind that striker role.
"I think there's going to be a lot of competition, but it's high-quality competition and I think good players expect to be challenged and expect competition for their places and that's what drives them on and keeps them focused and we have to try and create that with every position on the field if we can."
